Excitement and anxiousness is in the air as Bibb County public school students prepare to start school a different way this year. In these unprecedented times, Bibb County will be opening online September 8th. During these first few weeks, the district will reassess whether they will open for brick and mortar classes after October 30th. While the Bibb County schools are working through that process, Street to Success plans to be a supplemental tool for families to help in their child's learning efforts.
We will begin our program efforts in person during normal after-school hours on September 22nd. We will be incorporating the Ancestral Obligation to Learn TM into our efforts to empower young people. The mission of this education initiative is to tie Georgia Milestone prep to local History. We use the contributions of local African Americans, (their lives, and achievements) to introduce learners to 21st Century academic and technological standards all while instilling in them the amazing tradition of African American success within this community.
Street to Success is very excited to begin this new year. With all the challenges we face, we know that together our students can achieve greatness!
